Michael brings 23 years of experience in board, executive and line management roles, as well as in project management and delivery, first on Wall Street, then for the last 18 years in Europe. Michael’s career began with Johnson & Higgins (now Marsh McLennan) in New York, Munich and Brussels, where he led business development for international clients. He has since worked across Europe focused on strategy, sales, customer relationship management and M&A while in leadership positions with Accenture, Capgemini, BearingPoint, Sapient, and Deloitte Consulting.
He has worked with early-stage, high-tech companies to plan, secure funding and methodically generate revenue and profitability by turning innovative ideas into tangible products that create and satisfy client needs. Examples of the offerings of his client portfolio include: application of geospatial information to predict catastrophes; manufacture of carbon nano-tubes for wind powered turbines and high-strength, low-weight vehicles; very light jet air-taxi service; green pest control; modular solar power generation and desalinization; on-line book publishing; mobile device-based location sharing; hi-tech and bio-tech PR and MarCom; on-line medical appointment scheduling and a secure virtual boardroom.
He has played key roles driving innovation and sales for established global clients in the private equity, high-technology, nano-technology and blue-chip financial services industries including Allianz, Stone Point Capital, SAP, Intermap, Linde Group, SGL Carbon, Johnson & Johnson, General Electric, Munich Re and Berkshire Hathaway.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in International Business from Gonzaga University, an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, studied at the European Business School, and has completed executive certification programs at Harvard Business School and an executive program at INSEAD.
His commitment to the community includes dedication to inspiring young people to think big and reach their full potential. He leads the Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow program, mentors venture teams at the Ludwig-Maximilians University Entrepreneurship Center and supports KIKUS, a program to help the children of immigrants achieve cultural integration and scholastic success.
